Brighton vs Man Utd Premier League Prediction & Tips 21/22

Brighton are aiming to finish in the top half of the table which will justify how well they have been under Graham Potter this season. Last week's performance against Wolves captured how well drilled this Brighton side is, with a comfortable 3-0 win.

Man Utd travel to the Amex stadium with renewed belief after a convincing 3-0 win against an impressive Brentford side. The Man Utd side aims to finish the season strongly with Champions League qualification well out of sight, and will thus settle for Europa League football next season with their new boss Erik Ten Hag.

Brighton vs Man Utd Match Preview:

Brighton

Brighton has played some brilliant football this season, although the current league position does not do Graham Potter and his side any justice. In their last 5 matches, they've played 3 of the top 6 and managed to get 6 out of 9 points. They went to North London and outplayed both Arsenal and Tottenham winning 2-1 and 1-0 respectively. However, they travelled to the Etihad where they faced the league leaders Man City but were overwhelmed in the second half where they lost 3-0.

Brighton has also kept 3 clean sheets in their last 5 matches, which shows that they are improving as a defensive unit as well. Although, one clean sheet was against already relegated Norwich in a scoreless draw. This match highlights how their season has gone. They've drawn many matches and dropped points against teams that are usually situated in the bottom half of the table but manage to produce performances against most of the top half. Thus, if they keep their consistency up for the remaining few games they can set their sights on a top-half finish.

Man Utd

In recent fixtures, Man Utd have been quite the opposite to Brighton as they also faced 3 of the top 6 teams and gained only 1 point out of a possible 9. They were completely lifeless and overwhelmed in their visit to Anfield and were deservedly thrashed 4-0. They travelled to Arsenal where they lost 3-1 but in fairness, it was a much better attacking display but lacked the clinical edge to make the contest closer. Their performance since the Anfield thrashing has shown improvements as they drew to a Chelsea side who came off an incredible performance versus Real Madrid despite losing the tie.

Their two wins were against Norwich, which required yet another Ronaldo Hattrick and Brentford in which they showcased a much better team performance and won 3-0. This was their only clean sheet, which just shows how poor Man Utd's defence has been all season.

Brighton vs Man Utd Predicted Lineups & Team News:

Brighton XI: Sanchez; Cucurella, Dunk, Veltman; Trossard, Caicedo, Bissouma, Lamptey; Mac Allister, Mwepu, Welbeck

Jakub Moder (Cruciate Ligament Rupture), Tudor Baluta (Ankle Injury) and Jeremy Sarmiento (Thigh Problems) are unavailable for Brighton manager Graham Potter. Therefore it will be a relatively unchanged side which beat Wolves 3-0 at the Molineux. I expect one change to come in with March being replaced by Tariq Lamptey at RWB. This is to provide more pace and as well as defensive and attacking qualities as the right side of Brighton will most likely have to face the speedy Elanga and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Man Utd XI: De Gea; Telles, Varane, Lindelof, Dalot; Mctominay, Matic; Elanga, Bruno, Mata; Ronaldo

Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has a number of players out of action. Eric Bailly (Back Problems), Jadon Sancho (Tonsillitis), Luke Shaw (Leg Injury) and Paul Pogba (Calf Injury), and Marcus Rashford (Bronchitis) will not be available as confirmed by the Man Utd manager. Harry Maguire did return to training a week ago but will most likely appear on the bench as he did against Arsenal. This is due to the Man Utd defence keeping a clean sheet in their last match against Brentford as well. Garnacho may get some game time too with Rashford's absence. Thus, I reckon it will be an unchanged XI to face Brighton at the Amex.

Brighton vs Man Utd - Prediction & Tips:

BTTS - NO

- Brighton 0-2 Man Utd

- Under 2.5 goals - YES

Brighton have struggled at home as they haven't won in 8 home matches. Man Utd hasn't won in their last 5 away matches and hasn't kept a clean sheet in their last 10 away matches. But both teams come off a 3-0 win in the last week and are both filled with confidence. Despite this, I feel as if Man Utd's team have the better players and is capable of winning this match to keep their momentum going for the end of the season.
